Overview

The Town of McCandless Zoning Hearing Board is a quasi-judicial body made up of three qualified electors of the Town, appointed by Council, who serve overlapping three-year terms. There are also two alternate members of the board, appointed by Council, who serve three-year terms.

The Zoning Hearing Board holds requested hearings, as prescribed by the Town and Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code (PDF) for: variances from the zoning ordinance, special exceptions, appeals from actions of the zoning officer, challenges to the validity of the zoning ordinance or map.
